Observations:

December 2012 – Ruuttu has been playing most of his season for Kiekko-Vantaa in Mestis, Finland’s second tier league, and has recorded 19 points in 24 games. He has improved his game slowly but steadily but is still far away from the NHL. Miika Arponen

April 2011 – Alexander Ruuttu is a power forward with modest playmaking skills. He is a good skater and very strong in front of the opponent’s goal. His biggest weaknesses are his puck-handling skills and his shot. Ruuttu played this season on three different teams. He played 13 games in Jokerit’s men’s squad in SM-liiga scoring one goal.  Most of his season, 20 games, he spent with Kiekko-Vantaa in Finland’s second tier league Mestis scoring nine points. He also played 13 games in Jokerit’s U20 junior team producing 16 points in 13 games.  He will play at least one more year in Finland.

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Upside to be a third-line scoring forward in the NHL. Still at least three years away.
