Shoots: L |
Height: 6-0 |
Weight: 190 |
Born: 1989-3-26 |
Hometown: Leninogorsk, RUS |
Drafted: 2007 4th round 94th overall – Columbus Blue Jackets |
Observations:
March 2014 – Mayorov is currently a restricted free agent playing in the KHL for Atlant Moscow Oblast. Overseas, he has played well standing at 18 points in 29 games. He plays about 15 minutes a night. Mayorov has seen 22 NHL games from 2008-2012. In that span he has a total on three points (two goals and an assist). After failing to produce on a consist basis in both the AHL and NHL, Mayorov seems to be content playing in his home country. Chris Bagwell

March 2012 – Mayorov has some wheels, stick handling ability, and a precise shot for the big leagues. The native of Russia also has the size, but truly lacks the mental and physical aspects to blossom in the NHL. He often forgets his defensive responsibilities and doesn’t play with enough sandpaper to get beyond the AHL ranks. He currently is in his fourth year of the pros with a few sniffs in Columbus, but needs vast improvement in order to stay playing hockey in North America. Russ Bitely
Fantasy Outlook: D-
Unfortunately, Mayarov isn’t getting any younger – he’s 24. The Columbus Blue Jackets are stacked with prospects and the likelihood that he makes it back into the ranks is minimal. It’s not impossible though, as Mayorov is a powerful, energetic winger. His size is a huge advantage.
