Observations:
October 2016 – The 2015-16 season for Tarasov likely wasn’t one he imagined when returning to Russia. Recording only four goals and four assists in 37 contests last year, the current season is off to a slow start as well, with only two goals in 12 games. Tarasov is now 25, so the time is firmly against him making an impact at all in the North American game. Zachary DeVine
July 2015 – After a productive 2014-15 in which Tarasov saw his first action with the NHL squad; recording one assist in five games, and 33 points in 54 AHL contests, the Moscow-born right winger has signed with his hometown team (Dynamo Moscow) for the 2015-16 season. After presenting Tarasov with a qualifying offer, the Sharks maintain his RFA’ rights should he decide to return to North America in the future. Cam Robinson
September 2014 – Tarasov was a darkhorse to make the team even with the injury to Raffi Torres. He may very well get a call up during the season as he's one of the more prolific scorers the Sharks can call upon. Tim Graveline
December 2013 – Tarasov is quickly busting onto the scene rather quickly and could see a recall rather soon. He is posting just over a point per game in Worcester, and despite missing nine games is on the cusp of leading the team in scoring, mostly because only him and Freddie Hamilton can make red lights flash for the baby Sharks. If your searching for an offensive prospect to add to your farm, better snap him up now as his below radar status will soon change. Jason Banks
April 2013 – Tarasov now has a big-league contract with the San Jose Sharks. He signed an AHL contract back in June of 2012 with Worcester and based on his promising play was rewarded with a two-year contract with San Jose Sharks. Tim Graveline
March 2013 – Scoring is Tarasov’s bread and butter. This guy loves to shoot and he will almost always shoot first as evident by his high shot total in his few games in the AHL. This willingness to shoot shows how much confidence he has gained, especially since just a year ago he was signed to the Worchester Sharks and just this month he signed a pro contract with San Jose. He was not drafted and has made the jump from the USHL through the ECHL to the AHL, and he still has a chance to be brought up to the big show with his strong play this season. He’s quick and makes good decisions and doesn’t cause too many turnovers, but his play could be a tad selfish as he won’t be able to hold onto the puck as long as he would want to in the NHL. Tim Graveline
If you’re in the deepest of deep fantasy leagues, stranger things have happened…but none that come to mind.
