Observations:

Telegin is a big-tough Russian forward, who has never quite found his way to the NHL. After his first pro season in the AHL 2012-13, post-concussion symptoms as well as refusing to report to the AHL kept him from playing all of 2013-14. The Jets lifted his suspension in 2014 and he’s been playing in the KHL since, where he’s fought for ice time in a bottom-six role. It’s doubtful Telegin will ever return to North America to play. – David Dickenson

October 2014 – Telegin has crossed the pond to play in the KHL with CKSA. His contract ends in 2015-2016 so chances are very slim that he will come back and make any fantasy impact.

December 2013 – Telegin was sent to the St. John's Ice Caps but did not report due to personal reasons. He was suspended by the Jets and returned to Russia. He has not played anywhere since, but CSKA acquired his KHL rights. I would suspect that we don't see Telegin back in North America. – Dobber

April 2013 – Ivan Telegin suited up in 34 games for the St. John's Ice Caps this season but found the scoresheet only 10 times (three goals, seven assists) in his AHL rookie season. With a game based on size and strength, Telegin may require a few seasons of pro seasoning before leaving his impact at the next level. Look for him to develop slowly but his potential is as a very good third liner. Brendan Ross

April 2012 – As a 20 year old in his third season in the OHL, Telegin is leading the Barrie Colts in playoff scoring heading into the second round. The big Russian playmaker was acquired by Barrie from Saginaw to unite him with fellow Jets prospect Mark Scheifele. His career OHL stats are impressive in 156 games he has 81 goals, 88 assists for 169 points. He skates well and plays a more North American style than the typical flashy Russian style. Telegin uses his size well at the OHL level.

Fantasy Outlook: D-

Post-concussion symptoms and a fight with your NHL team should mean he’s a waste of a fantasy pick for the future.
