Shoots: R |
Height: 5-11 |
Weight: 200 |
Born: 1988-7-11 |
Hometown: Avon, CT |
Drafted: 2008 6th round 169th overall – Chicago Blackhawks |
Observations:
January 2015 – Smith has found his niche as a fourth-line checker on a Cup-contending team. That’s great in real life, but not as appealing in fantasy hockey. Dobber
December, 2012- Smith is enjoying a strong campaign in Rockford, among the team leaders with 21 points in 28 game. An assistant captain, Smith has supplied leadership as well as a strong two-way game. Can play a bottom-six role in the NHL right now.
March 2012 – Smith is really one of the uncommon players these days since he played all four years at Boston College (Hockey East). He is a player that worked hard to increase his speed and quickness in college and has now taken his game to the pros. He is currently in his second season with the Blackhawks organization seeing some time in Chicago. Smith finds a way to score with his knack to find pucks, but also has good playmaking skills.
Fantasy Outlook: B-
Smith has the grit to score in front or finesse to be a playmaker that looks to break-in with Hawks, but cracking the top six will be tough.
