November 2024 – Attard was traded to Edmonton for Ben Gleason. Now 25, Attard was in tough to crack Philly’s roster with such a deep group of young defensemen prospects on the cusp. The situation is better in Edmonton, although at his age it is unlikely he gets more than a cup of coffee here or there. – Dobber
March 2024 – Attard was recalled from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms earlier this month as the Flyers are dealing with multiple injuries to their blueline. Best known for his puck moving abilities, Attard has taken time adjusting to life in the NHL, as he doesn’t look comfortable yet. It’s possible he’s trying to play “too perfect” of a game, but with more time, he should become more acclimated to the Flyers’ play style. James Iacovone
July 2023 – The Philadelphia Flyers signed Attard to a two-year $1.7 million contract with an $850K AAV on July 5, 2023. In year one, 2023-24 season, he will make $275K if he plays in the AHL or $775K in the NHL. Year two, the 2024-25 campaign, is one-way, and he will make $925K regardless of where he plays. The 24-year-old defenseman will be an RFA again once his deal expires in 2025. Mark Henry
May 2023 – Attard spent most of the 2022-23 season in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. As a rookie, he had 32 points (12G, 28A) in 68 games, and he earned a spot in the 2023 AHL All-Star Game. Attard capped off the 2022-23 campaign by being named to Team USA at the 2023 IIHF Men’s World Championship, playing in four games. He is a restricted-free agent this summer. Mark Henry
May 2022 – Signing his ELC after the completion of his Junior year at Western Michigan, Ronnie Attard received a brief taste of the NHL game. Playing in 15 games of failed Flyers season, Attard demonstrated his inexperience early, making some crucial mistakes he was able to overcome at the collegiate level. However, he progressed well as he continued to accrue ice-time, displaying an ability to learn from his early mishaps. Possessing quality tools that make an effective NHL defenseman, the key for Attard is to put it all together and adapt to the pace of the professional game. Of all the Flyers’ prospects receiving a look at the end of the 2021-22 season, Attard is the most obvious in need of seasoning in the AHL. Expect him to start the 2022-23 campaign in Lehigh Valley with Philadelphia taking a patient approach to his development. John Gove
October 2019 – Ronnie Attard is looking like he belongs in the early going of his freshman year for Western Michigan. He is being given rather sheltered minutes so far given the talent ahead of him on the Western Michigan depth chart. The easier matchups make for as good an opportunity as any for him to improve on his skating and foot speed to make him more dangerous going forward. Edric Joseph
September 2019 – Ronnie Attard led all USHL defensemen with 65 points in 2018-19 and will hope to replicate his success for the Western Michigan Broncos this fall alongside fellow Flyers prospect Wade Allison. His skating is adequate at best, and it becomes a glaring shortcoming as games progress and he gets winded easier than he should. Until that time comes in a given game, Attard loves being the blasting cap for the team’s offense and makes teams pay when they gets into the slot. Edric Joseph
