Vyacheslav Buteyets

May 2026- Buteyets’ second season in North America saw the 23 year old netminder make starts in the ECHL, AHL and NHL- unfortunately, the performances at each level were underwhelming. Ignoring his one and four starts in the NHL and AHL respectively due to small sample size, his 44 games in the ECHL came with a 18-19-5 record, a 3.11 GAA and .908 save percentage. The Tulsa Oilers gave up the fourth most goals in the ECHL, so the blame doesn’t rest solely on Buteyets, but it doesn’t give us much to invest in as fantasy managers. If you hold Buteyets, there are likely more intriguing goalie prospects out there at the moment, but with Petr Mrazek’s contract ending and one year left on Ville Husso, Buteyets could find himself in the AHL as early as next season with a better team to develop with. Low-tier hold in deep leagues with goalie scarcity, otherwise, move on. – Alex Wyatt

June 2025 – Buteyets put pen to paper on a two-year contract with Anaheim in 2024, and came over to North America for the most recent season. He spent most of the year win the ECHL where he posted a line of 19-13-3 with a 2.82 GAA and .905 save percentage. His two game stint with San Diego of the AHL was not as appealing with a 5.56 GAA in only two games. It remains to be seen if he will get more showing at the AHL level in 2025-2026, but with the 31 year old Oskar Dansk- who started 37 games- a UFA, opportunity knocks in San Diego. Alex Wyatt
