December 2020 – The Red Wings used a sixth round pick in the 2018 draft to select 21 year old netminder Victor Brattstrom from Timra of the Swedish Allsvenskan. Brattstrom struggled in his post draft season, finishing with an 0.898 save percentage in 23 games at the SHL level but bounced back in 2019-2020 with a 0.914 save percentage in 45 Allsvenskan games. That performance earned him an entry level contract with the Red Wings and he was signed to a two-year deal last April. He was expected to make the jump to North America this season but has been playing on a loan agreement for KooKoo in Finland’s Liiga due to the pandemic, putting up a lowly 0.888 save percentage through 14 games.
