Fantasy Summary

Goal scoring forward, who was passed over in the NHL draft, and seems intent and capable of proving that was a mistake.

May 2023 – Kartye put quite a stamp on his inaugural season in the AHL, providing 28 goals and 29 assists across 72 games for Coachella Valley. He even scored in his first game with the parent club in the Kraken’s first round matchup with Colorado, as he is seeing good deployment and taking advantage in the NHL playoffs. The undrafted Kingston Ontario product was a shrewd, no risk signing for the Kraken, and has already proved to be worth the swing. Kartye was 20th in OHL points, and fourth in goal scoring in 2021-2022, so the fact he was passed over and available to be plucked for free is surprising. If your fellow poolies have a similar blind spot as 31 NHL GMs seemed to, Kartye could make you look just as clever as Ron Francis. Alex Wyatt
