July 2025 – Ty Henry has taken the slow and steady route since joining the Erie Otters, focusing on becoming a more reliable presence on the back end rather than chasing points. In 2024–25, he took a step forward with 1 goal and 16 assists in 63 games, more than doubling his output from the previous season. He also added 78 penalty minutes, leaning into his physical style. Offense is not the focus of his game. Henry uses his size, reach, and willingness to engage to disrupt plays and hold his ground defensively. The numbers do not reflect the improved poise he showed in year two, particularly in defensive zone coverage and on the penalty kill. He is not someone who will drive play, but he can support it. As for his NHL future, Henry remains a long-term project. Chicago has a deep group of defensive prospects, and Henry is not currently in the mix to challenge for a roster spot. Rockford would be the next logical step, but even that is not guaranteed. There is a path, but it will take time and continued refinement. Puneet Sharma
June 2024 – The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Henry in the sixth round (163rd overall) in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Mark Henry
