Ty Henricks

June 2025 – 2024-25 was an eventful freshman season in NCAA hockey for Henricks, as his Western Michigan Broncos captured the NCAA title by defeating Boston University.  Henricks, the 6-4, 216 pound winger, appeared in 41 games for the Broncos, posting eight goals and five assists.  Although the team did boast several NHL draftees on their roster, Western Michigan was ultimately led by their balanced lineup, and the guidance of their head coach Pat Ferschweiler.  In fact, after their NCAA triumph, some in the hockey community were pushing for the coach to get a look on an NHL bench.  Getting back to Henricks, the big lefty, of course, had limited ice time on a well-balanced team loaded with more experienced players, but the team’s run to the NCAA championship was, as it would be for any player, an invaluable experience.  Henricks will need at least another season or two of development before he is on the Rangers’ radar, and even then, he projects as a bottom-six player with limited fantasy upside.  Brendan Ferry
