An undrafted netminder who is currently recovering from a ruptured ACL.
Observations
September 2026 – Since tearing his ACL, Suchánek has not looked good. He relies on his reactions and athleticism more than a typical goalie, so his ACL tear might have already ended his odds of making the NHL. Still not that old for a goalie prospect, he now has to make up for the lost season and get back on track. Suchánek’s trajectory looks like it’s settling in as a good European goalie, but not an NHL one. Markus Kalmar
June 2025- Suchanek missed the entire season recovering from surgery to repair a ruptured ACL. The previous season, Suchanek moved to the professional ranks, and aside from an eight-game pitstop in the ECHL, he went 14-10-5 with a 2.92 GAA, .910 save percentage in 29 games with San Diego in the AHL. Hopefully, the young netminder has rested and recovered and is hungry to grab the crease in training camp in the fall. Alex Wyatt
