Tobias Tvrznik

September 2026 – Tobias Tvrznik is a big, athletic Czech goaltender the Colorado Avalanche selected 126th overall, a size-and-athleticism bet in his second year of eligibility. He announced himself the instant he reached North America, making 60 saves in his Western Hockey League debut to tie a franchise record that had stood since 1996, then turning in a Del Wilson Trophy finalist season as the league’s Goaltender of the Year runner-up. Across 39 games for a struggling Wenatchee Wild he went 16-18-4 with a .913 save percentage, third on the WHL leaderboard, a 3.10 goals-against average, and one shutout, and earned a Western Conference Second All-Star nod along with an invitation to the NHL Scouting Combine as one of only five goalies. At 6-foot-4 he has the frame Colorado covets and the athleticism to match, and he ranked eighth among North American goalies at Central Scouting. He is committed to Ohio State, with his 2026-27 spot between Wenatchee and college still to sort out. For fantasy he is a watch-only stash in deep goalie leagues, an intriguing size-based project, and where he lands and how he builds on the rookie numbers is the tell before any dynasty consideration.
