Shawn Carrier

September 2025 – Carrier was a sixth overall selection in the QMHL draft, and his toolbelt contains a number of desirable qualities in an NHL pro, it just remains to be seen if any are high end enough to earn his way to the highest level. He builds his game on tenacity and energy, and has the signs of budding offense. The Halifax Mooseheads did not have a bevvy of drafted talent in their ranks in Carrier’s draft year- Carlos Handel (6th round, 177th overall in 2025) was the only member of the team to be drafted. He was second in team scoring to fellow undrafted forward Liam Kilfoil- and Carrier finished his sophomore QMJHL season with a 18 goal, 26 assist effort in 59 games. This was a 33 point increase in the same number of games over his rookie campaign. Carrier’s drive and motor could see him get drafted in a second go-around, but he will need to round out an aspect of his offensive game to help get him to the highest levels and stick. He has a lot of runway left ahead of him in his development, but at present his is projecting to be a depth fantasy option in deeper leagues. Alex Wyatt
