April 2025 – The New Jersey Devils signed Lachance to a two-year, entry-level contract starting with the 2025-26 season on April 16, 2025. Lachance also signed an American Hockey League (AHL) Standard Player Contract for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign and played in two games with Utica to finish the season, where he registered one goal and one assist.

Lachance joined the Utica Comets after finishing his second season with the Boston University Terriers in the NCAA. In 40 games with the Terriers in 2024-25, Lachance had 30 points (12 goals and 18 assists). The Terriers lost in the National Championship game to Western Michigan.

March 2025 – The New Jersey Devils acquired LaChance from the Edmonton Oilers in a three-team trade involving the Boston Bruins. Mark Henry

July 2021 – The Edmonton Oilers drafted Lachance in the sixth round (186th overall) in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Mark Henry
