Fantasy Summary

A tenacious and intelligent offensively minded player. Impact potential is there if he can improve his skating

May 2022 – Harvey-Pinard has made a habit of exceeding continually rising expectations. He easily could have been an NHL regular this season in Michael Pezzetta’s fourth-line spot, but the decision to give him a full season to dominate the AHL was likely a wise one for his development. The 23-year-old scored 21 goals and 56 points in 69 AHL games, which led the Rocket in scoring and was the 30th best total in the league. His inside-driven offensive style, paired with his effectively-used high work rate at 200 feet, make his game project very easily to the NHL, and his strong showings in small minutes in four games with the Habs this season demonstrated that. The strong development curves and defensive abilities of Harvey-Pinard and Jesse Ylönen should facilitate the Canadiens’ management to sell off some older bottom-six players in the offseason as these young high-octane players are likely to force their way into the Habs’ starting roster within the next year. Harvey-Pinard is already a fan favourite, having earned the nickname “Lavallagher.” He should provide the Canadiens with a long-term bottom-six option with enough grit and work ethic for two players and with the skill, offensive awareness, and nose for the net to play up the lineup when needed. Sebastian High

July 2021 – Harvey-Pinard endeared himself to Rocket fans in his first season with the club due to his constant motor and work ethic.  He put up 20 points in 36 games for a strong first professional season.  Pablo Ruiz

April 2020 – Harvey-Pinard is expected to play in Laval next season after having another strong offensive season for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens with 78 points in 62 games as an over ager. This season concluded what a successful CHL career in which he put up more than a point per game in every season except his rookie year was. It will be intriguing to see how the undersized forward transitions to the pro game next season as he relies heavily on his puck skills. Pablo Ruiz

December 2019 –  Drafted in his third and final eligible year, Harvey-Pinard was taken 201st overall in the seventh round. He finished second on the Huskies last campaign with 85 points in the QMJHL; good for 11th in scoring in the league.  The first half of this season he continues to impress with 41 points in 33 games pacing him once again in the top 20. Skating is still an issue for the young forward and it is too soon to consider him draft worthy in any fantasy format. Jesse Sherman
