July 2023 – Lycksell re-signed with the Philadelphia Flyers on a two-year, two-way, $1.575 million contract, with an average annual value of $787,500. Lycksell is coming off of his first full season in North America, where he spent most of the 2022-23 season in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and did not disappoint, finishing the season second in team scoring as he produced 45 points (14 goals and 31 assists) in 53 games. He also played eight games in the NHL, registering one assist, which came in his sixth game on February 21, 2023, versus the Edmonton Oilers. With the Flyers in a full rebuild, and Lycksell able to play center and wing, with a strong performance in the Flyers 2023-24 training camp he could crack the opening night roster. Mark Henry
December 2022 – The Swede is playing in his first pro season in North America with both the Flyers and the Phantoms. So far, Lyckell has appeared in three NHL games, but posted no points. While he has not notched any points yet, he has had a decent showing with the Flyers. In the AHL he has an impressive 18 points in 19 games, good for second on the team in scoring. Clare McManus
June 2022 – Ranking fifth on the SHL’s Vaxjo Lakers HC, Lycksell took serious strides in his development this season, posting 14 goals and 20 assists in 47 games. Unlike prior years, Lycksell played a crucial role in his team’s success, with a large portion of the offense running through him. In four games of playoff hockey, Lycksell played at a two points per game pace, registering three goals and five assists in Vaxjo’s brief postseason stint. John Gove
August 2019 – He had his moments, but Lycksell was very much sputtering along with his progress and development through last season. He finished looking competent and could be a decent Jack-of-all-trades in the Flyers bottom-six some day that can be moved up the lineup in a pinch. He is not offensively inept, although you are likely to take notice of him on defense first. More than anything, that is a testament to his commitment to making himself into a 200-foot player. He will need to regain his confidence as he suits up for Linkoping of the SHL in 2019-2020. Edric Joseph
