Observations

September 2026 – Kosick is now listed at 6-0, and one can hope there is more growth to come. As a playmaker, Kosick shines as above average, but his game when he didn’t have the puck lacked too much last season. He’ll have to learn to play more physically and add some skating into the mix to get more active off-puck. There is enough high-end skill in his playmaking game to make it in the NHL, but he’ll need to add much more to the mix for teams to want him on the ice. A medium-upside, high-risk and long-term project for the Ducks. Markus R

October 2025 – A skilled stickhandler who is dangerous in space and dynamic in the open ice. Kosick’s game is all about offense. He has good vision, is good at picking out trailers, and is effective on the powerplay. Engagement in his own end is a bit of a work in progress, as he doesn’t play with any physicality and can sometimes be a step slow in defensive awareness. Kosick can be very fun to watch, but he’ll need to play more of a two-way game if he wants to stick at the Center position. Collin Wilcox
