July 2021 – Eliot was not tendered by the Vancouver Canucks and will become a free agent this summer. Dave Hall

April 2019 – The Canucks waded into the UFA pool to sign 21-year-old defender, Mitch Eliot from the Sarnia Sting. The right-shot player spent two seasons in the NCAA with Michigan State before moving to the OHL in an attempt to earn more playing time and exposure. Eliot recorded career-highs in goals (17), assists (38), points (55), and penalty minutes (85) in this, his final junior campaign. He’s a two-way defender that can bring some physicality and shot blocking metrics to the table, but likely doesn’t possess much offensive upside at the pro level. Eliot will head to Utica in the fall. Cam Robinson
