March 2022 – McNiven has been traded to the Calgary Flames in return for future considerations. Hadi Kalakeche

April 2020 – McNiven spent the 2019-2020 season a bit all over the map. Playing 22 games for three different ECHL teams and finishing with a 0.909 save percentage. He also impressed in his three AHL games finishing with a 0.919 save percentage. He will be given more of a chance in the 2020-2021 season to prove himself at the AHL level. Pablo Ruiz
