Michael Lindqvist

November 2018 – Lindqvist’s contract with the Rangers has been terminated, and he has returned to Färjestad BK team in the SHL. Lindqvist scored seven points in 16 games in the AHL but for whatever reason didn’t want to continue playing there, so now he’s back in Sweden and his NHL future looks very uncertain.  Jokke Nevalainen

September 2018 – Yes, the Rangers added another L_nd_vist to their system this offseason. In addition to drafting Nils Lundkvist in the first round of the entry draft, Jeff Gorton also inked 24-year-old Swede Michael Lindqvist to a single-year ELC with the Rangers. Last year was Lindqvist’s first attempt at a full slate in the SHL where he impressed, averaging better than a point per game in the country’s top league. The late-blooming, 5-11, 170 pound Euro may struggle a bit to create space for himself on the ice, but if he can overcome that obstacle, he could become a relevant scoring winger and power play specialist.
