October 2021 – Like most of Edmonton’s 2021 selections, Wanner was a bit off the board but in all fairness to the young defender, the seventh round tends to be a dart throw. The rangy rearguard plays a steady defensive game and moves around the ice well for a young 6-foot-3 player. He did not show a lot in terms of offensive upside for the Moose Jaw Warriors but every once in a while he would flash a bit of skill or a crafty play that makes a viewer think there might be more there. With the Warriors’ Daemon Hunt, Denton Mateychuk and Cole Jordan all being better options offensively, it is hard to see Wanner getting much offensive opportunity this season. With that being said, the young defender does have two assist through three games of the early WHL season. Jameson Ewasiuk
