Marek Sklenicka

September 2026 – Marek Sklenicka is a tall, athletic Czech goaltender the Philadelphia Flyers selected 120th overall, the second Czech netminder the club took in the draft after Martin Psohlavec.

Seattle grabbed him in the CHL Import Draft, and he led the Thunderbirds in wins as a rookie, going 20-12-6 with a .902 save percentage and three shutouts across 42 games while climbing Central Scouting’s North American goalie list to sixth by the final ranking. He closed the regular season on a tear and stole a playoff game with a 50-save performance to force a Game 5.

At 6-foot-4 he has ideal size, good footwork, athletic reflexes, and strong framing and compete, and he started Czechia’s bronze-medal game at the Under-18 Worlds. The concerns are real: he is lanky and needs strength, and his game is riddled with junior habits in tracking, positioning, and composure that will take significant reworking. He returns to Seattle for 2026-27.

For fantasy he is a watch-only stash in deep goalie leagues, a raw size-and-athleticism project, and how much of the technical game he refines is the tell before any dynasty consideration. Andrew Epps
