November 2022 – After an eight-game stint in the ECHL to start the season, Prokop was reassigned to the Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL). He will be apart of a loaded d-core that includes Chicago prospects Kevin Korchinski and Nolan Allan. Watch for Prokop to be the main shutdown man on what could be a Memorial Cup contender. October 2022 – Prokop will begin his professional career with the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL after a loan from Milwaukee. Curtis Rines
June 2022 – After a trade to the now Memorial Cup-bound Edmonton Oil Kings, Prokop became an absolute beast. Logging top-pair minutes, he scored ten goals and 33 points in 55 contests with Edmonton. His offensive production exploded even more into the playoffs, with 16 points in 19 games. Prokop is an overager, so he is expected to produce at a higher level, but for a defensive-minded blue-liner, it is still nice to see. Expect him to be in the Admirals lineup for 2022-23. October 2020 – Nashville selected hulking stay at home defender Luke Prokop in the third round of the 2020 draft. You can’t teach size and Prokop has it. His frame helps him dominate the crease and allow for clear shooting lanes for netminders to track. He is positionally sound and angles off attackers very well to the outside. To complement his sheer size, Prokop has a decent stride and strong footwork, which allows for great gap control in one on one situations. His style of play lends itself to physicality and while the traditional offensive stats may not draw interest, the hit and shot block categories are worth noting. The Predators have locked in on a natural defender and who should pair well with an offensive-minded partner in a middle pairing. Nicholas Kawka
