Luka Arkko

September 2026 – Luka Arkko is a big, physical net-front winger the Detroit Red Wings selected 175th overall, a late-round swing on size and a nose for the crease. He spent 2025-26 mostly with the Lahti Pelicans’ under-20 team in Finland’s top junior league, posting 11 goals and 25 points in 42 games, and added strong international showings for Finland at the under-18 level. At 6-foot-3 and over 210 pounds he plays an inside-driven game, forechecking hard, distributing smartly from down low, and taking pucks to the net, and his best projectable trait is as a net-front power-play threat, where he flashes soft hands on backhands and cross-crease looks. The concern is that he is extremely raw and mechanical at times, and the skating and processing need real work. He comes to North America this fall, signing with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League after being taken in the CHL Import Draft, which puts him on smaller ice under closer development. For fantasy he is a deep-league monitor whose case depends on the tools becoming production against tougher competition, so file him away and watch how his game translates to the OHL. Andrew Epps
