July 2024 – After torching the OHL to the tune of 113 points and finishing third in the entire league for points, Lucas was called to play for the Syracuse Crunch for 2022-23. Edmund’s first AHL season was a solid campaign on which to build for the future. This included a hot streak to end the year, scoring 12 in the last 22 games and being named the most improved player by the team. Unfortunately for the Swede, he struggled to get into the lineup in his second year. Edmonds has had tremendous difficulty getting into the Crunch’s top six, and, as a result, he’s suffered in every statistical category. The skating and hands are still there, but the mental aspects are still not at the level they need to be. Another year in the AHL can help Edmonds turn it around, but the odds look fleeting. Going into this season, Edmonds is not close to making the NHL roster, and if he does not turn his decline around quickly, he might never see NHL ice. Markus Roach
July 2022- Edmonds is a safely projectable middle six forward. His skating is mechanically sound and he uses it to weave his way into the right position. Taken in the third round at 86 overall he has the potential to be a 50-60 point two-way player in three to four years. Caleb Kerney
