Louis Crevier

July 2025 – Louis Crevier’s season gave us a better read on where he fits in the pro game. The 6-foot-8 blueliner split time between Chicago and Rockford, appearing in 32 NHL games and another 15 in the AHL. He tallied 3 goals and 2 assists with the Blackhawks in a limited depth role, showing flashes of offensive touch despite limited TOI. Defensively, he leaned on his reach and size to break up plays and saw time on the penalty kill. Down in Rockford, he looked more confident with puck retrievals and zone exits, picking up four points and a +1 rating in a small sample. After the Seth Jones trade, Crevier saw an extended run and even logged minutes with top-pair guys like Alex Vlasic. However, as others returned from injury, he found himself watching from the press box  which was a sign the Blackhawks view him more as a depth option right now. He profiles as a third-pair shutdown guy, but to lock down a full-time NHL spot, he will need to tighten his footwork and sharpen his reads. Puneet Sharma
