Fantasy Summary
A creative, 200-foot power forward with good vision who can stickhandle in tight areas, often finding teammates with ease. Due to his size on the offensive end of the ice, he easily maintains and protects the puck. However, his production and work ethic are inconsistent; more opportunity and experience can help improve this aspect of his game. He has the potential to become a top-six playmaking power forward with special team contributions or, at worst, a reliable bottom-six depth player.

April 2025 – Walton signed a three-year, entry-level contract with an average annual value in the NHL of $858,333 beginning in 2025-26 with the Winnipeg Jets on April 7, 2025. He will join the Manitoba Moose for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign on an amateur tryout agreement.
Winnipeg’s sixth-round pick in 2024 (187th overall), Walton, finished his third OHL season with the Sudbury Wolves. His 2024-25 OHL season ended after the Kingston Frontenac swept the Wolves in round one of the OHL Playoffs. During the 2024-25 campaign, Walton led the Wolves in goals, assists, and points and finished ninth in OHL scoring, amassing 38 goals and 54 assists for 92 points in 66 games. He added five points in four playoff games (one goal and four assists).
Walton has garnered more attention in fantasy after a breakout junior season; although the numbers are a vast improvement, his size is compelling, drawing comparisons to Tage Thompson. Let’s see if he can consistently put up these offensive numbers again in junior and the minors as the competition gets more challenging. The Jets are a franchise seemingly reluctant to play their prospects at the NHL level, combined with Brad Lambert and Brayden Yager sitting above Walton on the center depth chart. He is still a long-term project but trending in the right direction. The Jets may have found their next Adam Lowry, which is a worst-case scenario. Mark Henry
November 2024 – Walton continued to produce once the 2024-25 regular season began. In 20 games, Walton leads the Sudbury Wolves in scoring with 27 points (nine goals and 18 assists). He is tied for 14th in OHL scoring with Beckett Sennecke and Cedrick Guindon. Mark Henry
September 2024 – Walton attended the Winnipeg Jets 2024 Development Camp on July 3-7, 2024, and will participate in the 2024 Young Stars Classic in Penticton, B.C, September 13-16, 2024, with the Winnipeg Jets. Before leaving for the 2024 Young Stars Classic, he was the leading scorer in the Ontario Hockey League 2024 pre-season, scoring eight points (three goals and five assists) in three games with the Sudbury Wolves. July 2024 – Walton was selected 187th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Mark Henry
