March 2021 – Slavin has got great hockey size, covering a lot of ice with his long frame. His shot is very good as he has the ability to get the puck on net even through traffic. In order to take the next step, his skating will need to improve but that is an area he seems willing to work on. The biggest asset he has going for him is his willingness to work on his weaknesses and continue to grow as a player. He is a long-term project but someone to keep an eye on. Tony Carr

June 2022 – Slavin finished strong at the end of the AHL season, putting up eight points in his last 11 games with the Rockford Icehogs. He finished with totals of 18 goals and 14 assists in 49 games. Playing alongside Reichel certainly helped Slavin’s game. He was called to play  with the Chicago Blackhawks during the season and played 15 games, recording only one assist.
