July 2023 – Slavin signed a one-year AHL contract with the Toronto Marlies as Slavin now much work towards obtaining an NHL contract int he future. At 24, the time is running out quickly for Slavin to establish himself. Pat Quinn
February 2023 – The Hawks 2018 seventh round pick was trending up graduating from the NCAA after two seasons with Colorado College to the AHL. His rookie season was solid producing 32 points in 49 games with the IceHogs. He was named an assistant captain in his sophomore year, but his production dropped significantly to a pace of only 15 points in 71 games. The fresh start in Anaheim may revive his career, but he is a very long shot to become a fantasy relevant player at this point. Peter Harling
March 2021 – Slavin has got great hockey size, covering a lot of ice with his long frame. His shot is very good as he has the ability to get the puck on net even through traffic. In order to take the next step, his skating will need to improve but that is an area he seems willing to work on. The biggest asset he has going for him is his willingness to work on his weaknesses and continue to grow as a player. He is a long-term project but someone to keep an eye on. Tony Carr
June 2022 – Slavin finished strong at the end of the AHL season, putting up eight points in his last 11 games with the Rockford Icehogs. He finished with totals of 18 goals and 14 assists in 49 games. Playing alongside Reichel certainly helped Slavin’s game. He was called to play with the Chicago Blackhawks during the season and played 15 games, recording only one assist. Slavin was signed by the Blackhawks back in March 2021 to a two-year ELC deal which will extend through the 2022-2023 NHL season. With such a young Blackhawks team and having previously played with them, don’t be surprised if you see him again this upcoming season as a bottom-six addition. Puneet Sharma
