Fantasy Summary
A physical winger who is not afraid to go to the net but is limited offensively, who could develop into a low-upside bottom-six forward.
Observations
September 2026 – Jaxon Fuder spent the 2025-26 WHL season between the Red Deer Rebels and Edmonton Oil Kings after signing an entry-level contract with Dallas in September 2025. He put up seven goals, 17 assists, and 24 points in 27 games with Red Deer, earning assistant captain duties, before a December trade sent him to Edmonton. He was second on the Rebels in scoring and first in assists at the time of the trade.
Fuder is a relentless forechecker whose effort and physical engagement stand out before anything else. He finishes every check, takes direct routes to the puck carrier, and creates loose pucks through sheer motor. He draws penalties at a high rate because his feet never stop moving through contact, and he has shown some skill in tight, deflecting shots and cleaning up around the crease. The hands are functional, not flashy. His passing off the cycle has improved, particularly on feeds from below the goal line to the slot.
The concerns are size-adjacent. At 6-1, 176 pounds, he needs to add strength to compete against AHL defensemen in the battles that define his game. His skating has decent pace in a straight line but lacks the burst to separate at higher levels. In the September 2026 prospect tournament in Detroit, Fuder fought in all three games and brought visible energy, though he left Game 3 with a shoulder injury. That willingness to compete is real, but the injury risk attached to his style is real too.
Fuder turns pro this fall. Fantasy managers do not need to roster him, but he is worth a watchlist/risk note in leagues that monitor penalty minutes. His development over the next two AHL seasons will determine whether he is organizational depth or something more. Andrew Epps
September 2025 -After going undrafted in the 2025 NHL Draft, Fuder signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars on September 23, 2025, after participating in the Stars’ development camp earlier this summer and joining the team for training camp on an amateur tryout agreement. Fuder will return to the Western Hockey League for a second season and play for the Red Deer Rebels during the 2025-26 season. In his rookie campaign with the Rebels, Fuder was named the team’s most underrated player and was honoured with Red Deer’s Darcy Robinson Award for the 2024-25 season. There is no need to roster Fuder, even in a deep dynasty league, but if you are in a league with ample roster room for prospects and you are looking for a player that could provide penalty minutes, add Fuder to your watch list and follow his career progression over the next 2-3 seasons.
