October 2020 – Krannila passed through the 2020 NHL Draft without a selection, making him a free agent.  Jokke Nevalainen

January 2020 – Krannila has earned the NCHC Rookie of the Month honors after scoring six points in six games during the month of December. Krannila had a slow start to his rookie season with St. Cloud State University, scoring only four points in his first 12 games. But his strong performance in December may be a sign of better things to come. The 19-year-old forward went undrafted last summer but hopes to hear his name called this upcoming June.  Jokke Nevalainen

June 2019 – Krannila did not get drafted in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He is now eligible for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.  Jokke Nevalainen

June 2019 – Krannila, who was the top player in the Finnish U18 league in 2017-2018, had a solid season with the championship-winning Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL. He put up 45 points in 60 regular season games, but was used in a pretty limited role during the post-season. Krannila’s best single attribute is his brain. He reads the game at a good level and is great at making plays for his teammates. His hands are good and he can surprise goalies from long distances every now and then. Krannila is quite small and not very physical, so his lack of great speed is a bit worrying. He is also rather old for this year’s draft. Krannila is committed to play for St. Cloud State University next season and will likely spend three to four years with the program.  Lassi Alanen
