March 2020 – In his first full slate of professional games, the former WHL journeyman found a home with the Maine Mariners of the ECHL. Throughout his 36-game campaign, Elmer played a moderately effective role with some offensive contributions. The lack of skilled forward competition within the Rangers system may allow him to earn a position in the AHL next fall, however, he’ll need to show some significant growth before the expiration of his contract in 2022 if he has any hopes of continuing on his professional journey in North America.
