Retired in 2021-22
September 2017 – Entering his junior year at the University of Minnesota, Jack Sadek will need to continue the improvement seen in his defensive game last year. He’s in a great program and with two more full seasons before a contract decision has to be made, Minnesota can keep a close eye on him in their backyard. Usually successful defenders in the NCAA are above 0.33 points per game by the time their junior season comes around, so he needs to continue to progress. Will Scouch
May 2016 – Quietly, Jack Sadek established himself as a reliable two-way defenseman for the University of Minnesota. Through 15 games he mustered five helpers to go with 12 PIMs. His defensive efforts were adequate but needs his teeth better cut to contribute on offense as it’d be a big help given his ability to shoulder large amounts of playing time. It would be surprising to see him not return for his sophomore year this fall. Edric Joseph
August 2015 – As the seventh round of the deep 2015 NHL draft came to pass, the Wild took a terrific flier by selecting Jack Sadek (yet another Minnesota native) to bolster their defensive core with the probable graduation of Matthew Dumba to the major professional ranks looming in the near future. His ties to the community will continue remain strong through his development between now and when he makes the Minnesota roster as Sadek has committed to playing for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers this fall. He is a quality puck moving defensemen to watch as he was ranked 79th among North American skaters according to central scouting. Edric Joseph
