David Bedkowski

September 2026 – Bedkowski posted 29 points (five goals, 24 assists, +25, normally +/- are a tossup for evaluation, but that is such a positive number it is worth noting) in 68 OHL games split between Owen Sound and then to the Ottawa 67s after a mid-season trade. The 6-5 right-shot defenseman was invited by Buffalo to the 2026 Prospects Challenge. A hard-hitting, mobile presence on the blue line. On viewings his offensive upside is limited, but the physical profile of his size is an NHL asset. In a standard fantasy format, I would pass though, but he is worth a look if you use farm league settings. Andrew Epps

August 2025 – With their second-round pick, the Sabres took another hulking defenseman, this time from the OHL. In Bedkowski, the Sabres get an extremely physical, tough to play against, 6-5, 215 lbs rearguard. After being traded from the Oshawa Generals two games into the season, he took on a leadership role with the Owen Sound Attack. He is a nightmare for any forward in front of the net. He’s good at breaking up plays along the boards and in open ice he throws bone crushing hits. All signs with the Toronto native points to third pairing, shutdown defenseman in the NHL.
