Fantasy Summary

Dach is an offensively skilled forward with solid stick handling abilities and is able to play in both the centre and left wing slots. His size is a great advantage over his opponents especially down low where he is able to muscle his way in and control the puck. His has a strong yet very deceptive release for a player of his size. As a 6-foot-4 forward his skating was one noticeable flaw in his game however he has been able to strengthen his acceleration and edge work since being drafted. The probability of being a reliable middle six NHL player is certainly there.

June 2025 – Colton Dach took real strides in 2024–25, flashing upside while navigating the NHL-AHL split. In Rockford, he posted 26 points in 33 games driven by a solid 14.6% shooting clip. That confidence earned him 25 games with Chicago, where he added seven points in limited TOI minutes and threw 86 hits, showing his physicality. Dach looked comfortable in a depth role, using his size and forechecking pressure to stay noticeable. Bridging that AHL success into NHL consistency is the next step. If he can lock in a role and keep pushing pace, he is tracking towards more NHL ice time next year as a potential power forward with some scoring pop. Puneet Sharma

May 2023 – Dach was selected to play with Team Canada in the World Juniors at the beginning of this year but sustained a shoulder injury during the tournament. He has had a tough season with multiple concussions and the shoulder injury that has kept him out for a good portion of the season. He was then traded to the Seattle Thunderbirds while being injured with the Kelowna Rockets. With the trade, Dach joined fellow Blackhawks prospects Kevin Korchinski and Noah Allen in Seattle. Since returning, he has played 14 games with Kelowna and posted nine goals and eight assists during the regular season. He has further continued that success into the playoffs with 14 points in 17 playoff games. Although his injury may have slightly delayed his progress, Dach will be at training camp ready to fight for a middle six role on this young Blackhawks team.  Puneet Sharma

December 2022 – Colton Dach makes the Canadian IIHF WJC team.  The Kelowna Rockets Captain is getting his chance to further display his skills and leadership capabilities with a bolstered World Junior squad. The full roster was announced on December 12th by Hockey Canada where Dach will have the chance to play with great players on the biggest junior stage. Dach has come out strong with the Kelowna Rockets since coming back from injury. He is posting over a point per game pace with nine goals and eight assists over 14 game span. This is nothing new for Dach as his previous years numbers were also impressive with 29 goals and 50 assists over 61 games. Puneet Sharma
