Brandon Svoboda

June 2026 – Svoboda is now a member of the Ottawa Senators organization after being included in the deal that saw William Eklund move north.

Svoboda is currently unsigned, so will need to sign an ELC with Ottawa before we can write his name in pen on their depth chart. He projects as a bottom six forward, and his six goals and nine assists in 35 games in his NCAA sophomore season suggest he is not a stalwart offensive contributor.

He did go over 53% in the faceoff dot, and sat above league average in takeaways, though this archetype leans heavily toward the classic ‘better in real life than in fantasy’.  At 21 years old currently, chances are he won’t be a target for our fantasy squads. Alex Wyatt

August 2025 – Svoboda played his freshman season at Boston University, appearing in 33 games and posting nine points. Despite a modest statistical output, his vision and powerful wrist shot, combined with strong forechecking, offer a foundation for future development. A healthy sophomore season will be crucial for determining whether he can become more than a bottom-six college contributor and potentially carve out a pro role. Victor Nuño
