Fantasy Summary

Undersized goal-scorer with tremendous compete — second-line potential with a fallback game as a bottom-six checking forward.

January 2024 – Lisowsky has been an effective player throughout his junior career with the Saskatoon Blades. This season, the former seventh-round pick has 19 goals and 43 points in 36 WHL contests. Lisowsky is a fantastic goal scorer, possessing a wicked shot, but his ability to forecheck, even with a 5-9 frame, allows his game to be more well-rounded than you may think. The tools are there for an effective NHLer and he will definitely be an intriguing name to watch when he eventually turns pro. Curtis Rines

July 2022 – With their final pick of the 2022 NHL Draft, the Toronto Maple Leafs have selected Lisowsky in the seventh round, 218th overall. Nick Richard

May 2022 – Lisowsky had a great regular season for the Saskatoon Blades, finishing third on his team in scoring with 33 goals and 58 points in 68 games. The prospect also performed well in the Blades’ short postseason run, scoring three goals and adding two assists in five games while showcasing his trademark compete level and even cranking it up a couple notches with the added pressure.

His great shot is the hallmark of his offensive game, and he uses his 5-foot-9, 172-pound frame surprisingly well to play in-between checks, battle along the boards and make himself an option off the backs of defenders. He shows decent awareness of his surroundings, understanding when to push the pace and when to slow it down in order to benefit from as much time and space as possible. Although his playmaking touch isn’t refined as a result of spending more time than most away from the puck and looking for an opportunity to finish, he can still find seams pretty well. The lack of size may scare some scouts away, but the sheer amount of adaptive skills he’s developed to compensate for that make him a great second-round pick-up in my eyes. I’d be surprised if his game doesn’t translate. Hadi Kalakeche
