Team: Colorado Avalanche
Fantasy Summary
Offense-first, right-shot defenseman who drives a power play with his skating and distribution, and the most productive blueliner in his draft class at the U20 level. The size is the risk, but the fantasy ceiling is a power-play-running top-four defender, the highest of this group.
Observations
June 2026 — Elofsson is a high-upside player and the most productive defenseman in the class at junior level. He led every U20 Nationell blueliner in scoring with 41 points in 32 games, almost all of it through his passing at nine goals and 32 assists, and added 11 points in five games at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. He also drew into six SHL games with Örebro at 17. The game is built on skating and puck skill. He moves pucks efficiently, prefers controlled exits to dumping the puck, joins the rush without losing his recovery, and runs a power play with constant movement and distribution along the blue line. Public boards and Central Scouting disagree sharply on him: Central Scouting placed him 29th among European skaters, while most public lists sit between 44th and 70th, and the spread comes down to one thing. He’s listed at 5-11 and roughly 165 pounds, and the strength and defensive consistency have to catch up before he can hold a pro role. For fantasy, he’s an assist engine whose value rides almost entirely on power-play time. He’ll move to the HockeyAllsvenskan with Oskarshamn next season, where top-four minutes and power-play work will be the real test against men. If the defensive game rounds out enough to keep him in a top-four role, a power-play-driving 45-point defenseman is the ceiling, which is where the 6.5 upside lands. Andrew Epps
