February 2024 – In his first KHL season with Kunlun Red Star (Beijing), Wong has three goals in 15 games. With Wong being under contract for another two seasons in the KHL combined with underwhelming statistics, the Winnipeg Jets will decide whether they want to retain Wong’s rights by August 2024. Mark Henry

August 2023 – On June 24, 2023, Wong signed a three-year contract with Kunlun Red Star, a Chinese professional ice hockey club in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The Winnipeg Jets will retain his exclusive rights until August 2024. Mark Henry

June 2022 – Wong returned for his second season with Harvard University after a covid-suspended 2020-21 season forced a move to the USHL.  He plays with an edge, leading Harvard in penalty minutes, while totaling just eight points in 32 appearances.  Wong had a tough time unleashing his untapped offense with the minutes he was given, as the Crimson had more established scoring options.  Wong’s hard-nosed, pesky playstyle is at times undisciplined, which causes his team more harm than good.  He has yet to prove his offensive upside in college, and his junior scoring touch has not translated at the next level.  Wong remains unsigned by the Jets and will look to bring one more season showcasing at Harvard in an attempt to force the Jets’ hand and make a signing. Justin Kaye

April 2020 – Wong’s freshman year at Harvard was definitely a struggle for consistency, appearing in 21 of the team’s 31 games. He will look to get back to work in the offseason to find the elite goal-scoring form he displayed during his time in the AJHL. Jamie Zadow

April 2019 – Selected in the final round of the 2018 draft, Wong has relatively flown under the radar in the Jets’ prospect pool. However, following another strong season in the AJHL (62 points in 47 games), the young center has committed to Harvard University and will start his freshman year this fall. Jamie Zadow
