Arseni Ilyin

October 2025– Ilyin is off to a slow start to the season in terms of production. The lack of production is cause for concern because he is playing at the MHL level and it could be reflective of a lack of potential offensive potential. However, there are things to like about Arseni. Ilyin has moved to center for MHK Spartak Moscow, which could be part of the reason his production is slow to start the season. What he has shown is his ability to play 200ft with his above average skating and impressive motor. Ilyin has good details in terms of puck support, staying above pucks, and stick positioning in the defensive zone. Arseni is also used as a puck transporter for Spartak often carrying pucks through all three zones and then dishing it off towards his more skilled wingers. The production is a concern but let’s see if it comes as he transitions to his new position.-Zak Egan
