June 2025- Johansson saw his sophomore season with Leksands IF of the SHL go quite similarly from an offensive standpoint to his rookie season. He provided five goals and five assists in 46 games, but saw his snarl increase with 50 PIM. He saw regular heavy usage despite being one of the youngest players on the team, and the youngest blueliner. He jumped right in to action with the Grand Rapids Griffins at the end of the season, putting up five assists in only 11 games. The transition to North America, and the quick offensive production is a good sign, and opportunity abounds for Johansson after the graduation of Simon Edvinsson and Albert Johansson to the NHL. Alex Wyatt
August 2024 – Johansson has a track record of steady, gradual improvement. Now 23, he already has five pro-level campaigns under his belt in the SHL and AHL. His offensive ceiling looks more modest now than it seemed a couple years ago, but he still has the look of a solid depth scorer. Johansson provides a bit of everything: some offence, some physicality, solid play in the defensive end. Expect his slow progression to continue over the next few years until he is a regular member of the Wings’ bottom four. In the short term, he may benefit from Simon Edvinsson’s presumed graduation to Detroit next year by taking on a more prominent role with the Griffins in 2024-25. It would be interesting to see what he could do with more power play time. Ben Gehrels
August 2023 – The 2022 4th round draft pick showed up to the World Summer Showcase on a mission to make a name for himself with the Tre Kronor – and he accomplished just that. He shined in the first three exhibition games while registering two goals and an assist and also showed his ability to lead the top power play unit. The 19-year-old also showcased his speed – driving to the net in the offensive zone on multiple occasions for scoring opportunities. He’ll be returning to Leksand of the SHL where he’ll continue to develop and add weight to his wiry frame. The trajectory has been rising and will be interesting to see if it continues upward in his return to the men’s league this fall. Evan Sabourin
