Andre Mondoux

September 2026 – Andre Mondoux is a big, physical, stay-at-home defenseman the New York Rangers selected 162nd overall, exactly the kind of size-and-defending blueliner the franchise has favored for years. At 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds he defends downhill, closes gaps on the reception, and kills transitional attacks with his reach and solid feet, and scouts praised his leadership and consistency for the Kingston Frontenacs. The offense is minimal, six goals and 18 points in 66 games, and it is not the reason to like him. This is a defensive projection through and through. A 2007-born re-entry who went undrafted in his first year of eligibility, he earned the pick with a strong overage season and a smart, simple game with the puck. He returns to Kingston for 2026-27 before enrolling at the University of Notre Dame in 2027. For fantasy his standalone value is limited given the low point ceiling, and his real-hockey path as a bottom-pairing shutdown option will outrun his fantasy relevance.
