Alexandre Taillefer

September 2026 – Alexandre Taillefer is a dynamic-skating, puck-moving defenseman the Winnipeg Jets selected 135th overall, a swing on mobility and vision after an injury-wrecked draft year. An Achilles injury ended his season in December and limited him to 28 games with the Quebec Remparts, but he still posted 15 assists in that span, and the Jets called him one of the best-skating defensemen in the entire class. His game is built on his feet and his head. He moves the puck with purpose, reads the ice like a quarterback from the blue line, and projects to run a power play, and he is surprisingly physical in the defensive zone for a light frame. That frame is the issue: at 165 pounds he needs real strength, and his offense skews to setup over shooting with just two goals. He returns to a strong Quebec team for 2026-27, likely on the power play, before an eventual move to the University of Massachusetts. For fantasy he is a deep-league monitor whose case depends on a healthy, fuller season proving the skating-and-skill package can drive offense, so hold off and watch his production over a full year.
