June 2025 – The Calgary Flames signed Klapka to a two-year, $2.5-million contract extension that carries a $1.25 million AAV on June 10, 2025. He played in 31 games for Calgary in 2024-25, producing 10 points (six goals and four assists) while adding 108 hits and 25 blocked shots along with 29 penalty minutes. Originally signed as a free agent by the Calgary Flames on May 16, 2022, Klapka has developed well and should be a lock to make the 2025-26 Calgary Flames opening night roster in a fourth-line role and become a full-time NHL player in 2025-26. While he does not offer much offensively, he should be considered in salary cap and deeper leagues that value PIM, hits, and blocks. Mark Henry
