October 2024 – Foerster is set to begin his second full season with the Flyers as a top-six winger. While praised for his work away from the puck early in the 2023-24 season, Foerster found his offensive game as the season continued. He will look to build on his 20-goal rookie campaign playing alongside either Sean Couturier or Morgan Frost and will be a key factor in Philadelphia’s power play. James Iacovone
June 2023 – After an impressive first entire AHL season in 2022-23, scoring 20 goals and adding 28 assists for 48 points in 66 games played with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Foerster was named an AHL All-Star, and on June 7, 2023, he was named to the AHL inaugural top prospects team, which featured six players: three forwards, two defensemen, and one goalie, including Foerster. His play during the 2022-23 campaign was encouraging, given Foerster’s development had been seemingly stalled the previous two seasons by injuries. Look for him to compete for an opening-night NHL roster spot in 2023-24 with the Philadelphia Flyers. Mark Henry
December 2022 – Foerster has been having himself a season with the Phantoms, leading the entire team in points. He has developed into a pro hockey body throughout his time with the Phantoms, which is a great look for the Flyers prospect pool. Foerster has also gradually improved on his skating ability. If he keeps up the good work with the Phantoms, he could see a call up this season with the big club. Clare McManus
May 2022- Similar to so many other players in the Flyers organization, Foerster’s 2021-22 season was interrupted by injury. Playing just nine games with the Phantoms, Foerster was sidelined due to a shoulder injury. He returned in late March, playing 19 games (including playoffs) in the OHL with the Barrie Colts. Registering 15 points in that span, Foerster progressively got better and should be at full health when Philadelphia’s rookie camp begins. The key for Foerster is remaining healthy, something he has struggled with the past few seasons. If he can stay on the ice, there is a strong chance the former first-round pick receives a call-up from the Flyers at some point next season. For a team desperate for a dynamic offensive weapon, Foerster could provide assistance in that realm. John Gove
October 2020 – Tyson Foerster has signed his entry-level contract. The Alliston native will return to Barrie and continue to finish his scoring opportunities with the OHL’s best. His skating is a key area of improvement if he’s to regularly make it into the high-danger scoring areas to make use of his terrific hands. Regardless, he’s welcome to continue letting it rip as he’s one of the better finishers in the 2020 draft. Edric Joseph
October 2020 – Foerster was drafted 23rd overall by the Flyers. Foerster could push for an NHL job after two more years in the OHL. Jokke Nevalainen
May 2020 – One of the best powerplay threats in the draft, Foerster has a shot that would make him one of the high-end shooters in the NHL already. His shot is dangerous from anywhere in the offensive zone but he is particularly deadly when he is able to set up in the faceoff circle and fire away. He changes the angle of his shot with subtle stick work prior to the shot and he takes shots from unorthodox positions. He has no issue firing a bomb from his off-foot on the rush or slapping a backhand one-timer. That diverse shot selection is part of what makes him dangerous at all times on the ice. His play away from the puck is a work in progress and his playmaking, while decent, doesn’t really move the needle in any major way. He will be a capable facilitator, specifically on the powerplay. Foerster will be able to thrive if put in the right position and given the ample powerplay time that his shot deserves. Tony Ferrari
