September 2024 – After three years of improving steadily, playing for Boston College. Trevor Kuntar played his first pro season for Providence and amassed 20 points in 70 games (10 goals and 10 assists). He is a hardworking, big-bodied player with an excellent two-way game. His shot is also sometimes surprising. He could fill in nicely in a depth role in the NHL; however, he is in the same situation as many Boston forward prospects, as many players around the same level are trying to set themselves apart from the others and be granted those last few spots on the back end of the lineup. He will head to Buffalo for the Prospects challenge and try to make an impression during training camp. Anthony Vincens

April 2023 – Kuntar had a bit of a coming-out party for Boston College this season, finishing third on the team with 13 goals and 16 assists in 34 games. Kuntar parlayed the successful season into a two-year entry-level contract starting next season. It is unclear whether Kuntar will sign an Amateur tryout contract to finish this season in Providence. He does have himself set up to make a run at cracking the Bruins roster in the coming years, as the Bruins will need some value contracts to fit under their cap situation. The big-bodied center already has the frame for the professional game, but he could have used another year of development in college. The pro-ready body and lack of prospect depth could have possibly accelerated the timeline for Kuntar in Boston. Nate Duffett

June 2021 – Kuntar’s first season of NCAA hockey was ultimately a success, as he racked up six goals and 10 points in 23 games for Boston College. His aggressive style transitioned nicely from the USHL, as he led the team with 33 PIM and used his physicality to win puck battles all over the ice. With Boston College likely losing several key players to NHL contracts, Kuntar should earn more ice time next year, where he will look to develop into one of Boston’s most important prospects. January 2021 – Kuntar is off to a good start in his freshman campaign with Boston College. He has managed four goals and five points through six games thus far, transitioning nicely as a goal scorer from the USHL to the NCAA. His decision to de-commit from Harvard and join the Eagles after the Ivy League season was canceled is proving to be a good one. His new team features plenty of NHL-caliber prospects and should help him thrive as he continues his development now and in the future. Chris Mazza

October 2020 – Another overager selected by the Bruins, Kuntar was chosen 89th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He is a big center that shines in the middle of the ice, winning net-front battles and using his soft hands in tight. He has a powerful shot that he uses often, landing second in the USHL in shots on goal (195) in 2019-2020. He led his team and finished 10th in league scoring with 28 goals and 53 points in 44 games. He also managed to contribute 21 power play points and 83 penalty minutes, showing his potential versatility for fantasy leagues moving forward. Kuntar improved his point totals in each of his three seasons with the Youngstown Phantoms, and will now take his high compete level to Boston College to continue his development. He has a long way to go to become fantasy relevant but offers a diverse skill set and a high ceiling. His progression will be one to monitor. Chris Mazza
