June 2025 – Mathurin spent most of his fourth OHL season on the top pair for the surprisingly good Windsor Spitfires, but his season was cut short in early March due to injury. Injuries have hampered Mathurin his entire junior career and he has yet to stay healthy for a full campaign. If he is dealing with these issues this early, it does not bode well for his outlook in a competitive Detroit Red Wings prospect system. He is moving to the NCAA in 2025 to play with UMass-Lowell, so he has a chance to gain some consistency and elongate his hockey career. He is certainly not on the fantasy radar at the moment. Jeff Grybel

July 2022 – The Detroit Red Wings drafted Mathurin in the fifth round (137th overall) in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Mark Henry
