May 2022 – Reichel had a very solid year with both the Rockford Icehogs and in his time with the Chicago Blackhawks. Over the course of the season, Reichels’ stats with the Icehogs have been very impressive with nearly a point-per-game pace with 20 goals and 31 assists over 55 games. When he was brought up to play with the Blackhawks this season he also showed that he is more than capable to play at an NHL level. As a rookie, he put up 15 points in 23 games, which is fairly impressive considering what the Blackhawks had on the ice this year. With all things considered, Reichel should make the team out of training camp, which puts him in prime opportunity to play on the wing of Connor Bedard. Should that happen you can certainly expect an increase his overall output, draft and fantasy value. Puneet Sharma
October 2022 – Reichel has been assigned to the Rockford Icehogs for further development. Although it was expected by many, including Reichel, that he would start the season off with the Blackhawks, management saw otherwise. In all fairness to Reichel, he spent most of training camp and the preseason playing with Kurashev, Katchouk, and Sikura as opposed to Kane and Toews. Sending Reichel to the Icehogs will give him more time to solidify his overall game and confidence. Puneet Sharma
June 2022 – Lukas Reichel finished with 21 goals and 36 assists in 56 games – boasting the highest point total on the
Rockford Icehogs. All signs indicate the Blackhawks are taking the opposite approach on how they handled Kirby Dach. This gives Reichel the chance to build his confidence at the AHL level and is being offered every opportunity to flourish before his full gig with the NHL. Reichel played a collective 11 games throughout the second-half of the NHL season and posted only one point. Interestingly, by playing 11 games, the Blackhawks have burned the first year of his ELC, which almost solidifies a spot for him for the upcoming season. Reichel played both center and left-wing with the Blackhawks during his NHL stint. Playing alongside the likes of Toews and Dach, Reichel has the opportunity to further focus on his two-way game and potentially solidify his place within the top-six. Puneet Sharma
December 2020- earning a spot on Team Germany would put an exclamation mark on a pretty productive year for Reichel. After a productive 2020 WJHC, Reichel was drafted 17th overall by the Blackhawks. Tony Carr
October 2020 – Reichel was drafted 17th overall by the Blackhawks. Reichel could push for an NHL job after another year or two in Germany. Jokke Nevalainen
December 2019 – So far this season, Reichel has been one of the biggest risers on draft boards. The nephew of former NHLer Robert Reichel has put up eight goals and 15 points in 23 games in the DEL, the top league in Germany. What makes it even more remarkable is that he’s only averaged 13:22 of ice time per game playing for Eisbären Berlin, one of the top teams in the league. A year ago, Reichel had a very good season in the German junior league where he put up 11 goals and 42 points in 32 games. But no one expected him to be this good this quickly. Because of his strong season, Reichel is expected to play a major role for Germany at the World Juniors later this month. Reichel is a very good skater with great combination of speed and quickness. He is constantly moving and participating in the play even when he doesn’t have the puck. Reichel has very good puck-skills and a great shot. He isn’t afraid to battle for pucks in the corners or go to the dirty areas of the ice which shows his pro-like style. Reichel has shown great hockey sense on both sides of the puck; he is already pretty good defensively which is a positive sign for his NHL future. He isn’t all that flashy but he is very efficient, and he has legitimate middle-six upside at the NHL level. He is also pretty young for his draft class. Reichel is projected to be drafted in the second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Jokke Nevalainen
