Dec 2017 – It’s tough to know what the timeline is for AOM. He hasn’t been an everyday regular in the lineup but is showing development skills. No fantasy relevance though. – Joel Henderson

Apr 2017 – Stockton has a new depth defender in Ollas Mattsson as he signed an ATO for the remainder of the season. In the first few games for the Heat, Adam has shown his improved foot speed, his physical engagement, and his ability to read the play well. As he continues to work on his transition game and his ability to evade in the defensive end, the Flames can be patient with him. The way he engages with defenders is sorely needed and there is a great chance he signs with Calgary for 2017/18. While he has NHL potential, he will always leave fantasy owners wanting a lot more. – Joel Henderson

Apr 2016 – During the IIHF World Juniors, he suffered a “lower body fracture” which forced him to leave the tournament. If you haven’t been following him, he finally returned to action mid-March after being sidelined for a period of 11 weeks. He still needs to improve his skating and his overall game. Doubtful he comes over to North America next season since Stockton’s cupboards will be full. – Joel Henderson

Dec 2015 – He has been named to Team Sweden roster for WJC. While Flames fans would be excited to see other 2015 second round d-men on this roster, Adam fills a shutdown roll that the others cannot. His big body and physical play will be needed on a high powered Swedish roster and while he won’t be counted on for big OFF Zone starts, it will give a glimpse to how his progression is continuing while playing against strong men in Sweden. – Joel Henderson

August 2015 – He was selected to play for Team Sweden during the 4 Nations Tournament in Russia. Joel Henderson

June 2014 – Adam Ollas Mattsson was selected in the sixth round, 175th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Ranked as the 15th best European skater by Central Scouting, for the Flames to nab him at 175th looks to be a good bargain. The large 6’4 defenseman must improve his skating, but he is smart and knows how to finish his checks. -Kevin Won

June 2014 – Adam Ollas Mattsson is a defensive defenseman who is pitted against opposing top offensive lines. Smooth in transition, Mattsson keeps his game simple and focuses on his defensive responsibilities. He skated with Djurgarden in the Allsvenkan league for six games and tallied a pair of assists. Brendan Ross
